ART | Grow Up Series
The Grow Up. series is an exploratory painting series comprising of over 30 canvas pieces. It is an exploration into a nostalgic mind, that was raised by fiction. How the characters of our childhoods, that we admired so much, have helped to shape us. And how a generation that has been fed so much pop-culture since birth, has refused to grow-up and are redefining what being an "adult" is.
I have been working on this series for many years now, and it is still ongoing.
It is trippy to think, it has almost been a decade of this nostalgia inspired series. An homage to the role models of fiction that litter our lives so beautifully. Teaching us all the things life forgets to mention, if you are willing to decipher the puzzle that is storytelling. Never downplay the importance of story, it is how we continue to evolve. Which is a sad realization when you look around in today's world of mass entertainment and distraction, the integrity of storytelling is being diminished right before our eyes.
