Nicholas Ridiculous
Nicholas Ridiculous is a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist, designer, musician, author, and creative facilitator whose work explores nostalgia, identity, pop culture, personal history, and the tension between growing up and holding onto play. Working across painting, sculpture, fashion, installation, graphic design, upcycled clothing, music, and writing, he combines bold color, mixed media, streetwear influences, humor, and a raw DIY sensibility.
As a musician, Nicholas creates independent hip-hop that moves between introspective storytelling, dark humor, experimental production, and underground internet culture. His solo catalogue includes the album BASTARD, while his collaborative work with Canadian hip-hop group dimebagcrew spans multiple albums, singles, and creative projects. His visual and musical practices feed into one another, building a larger creative world shaped by vulnerability, rebellion, nostalgia, and self-expression.
Nicholas is also a published author whose books and written work extend these same themes through poetry, personal reflection, storytelling, and experimental prose. His writing often examines memory, relationships, identity, emotional contradiction, and the strange humor found in everyday life. Across books, music, clothing, and visual art, he treats each medium as another way to build interconnected worlds and communicate experiences that are deeply personal while still feeling familiar.
He is the founder of UNDERBELLYSOCIETY and a member of The Unruly Hooligans, through which he has helped develop exhibitions, community events, workshops, performances, and collaborative art experiences. His practice regularly moves beyond traditional gallery spaces, using clothing, books, music, public-facing projects, and participatory workshops to make art accessible, immersive, and connected to everyday life.
