Created on a 20 x 16 inch canvas, the piece layers acrylic, ink, and expressive mark-making over an energetic abstract background. Drips, scratches, and raw lines collide with bold color fields, capturing the exaggerated optimism and ridiculous confidence that made The Tick unforgettable. The speech bubble — “It’s ok.” — transforms the character’s comic bravado into something softer: reassurance, resilience, and survival.

Part of my GROW UP series, this work revisits pop culture figures that shaped our childhood and reframes them as symbols of identity. The Tick becomes more than parody — he becomes protection. A reminder that sometimes strength is loud, awkward, imperfect… and still enough.
